Admission to Elementary
Every year, Collège St-Jean-Vianney welcomes curious and motivated students ready to invest in their learning and in the life of our community. Admission to Grade 5 and 6 elementary is based on a review of the student’s academic file, through a clear and simple process.

Steps to follow
Submit the admission application
- The admission period for 2026–2027 is now closed. For 2027–2028, it will begin in fall 2026.
- Click on Register my child for elementary to access the online form.
- Please note that spots in Grade 6 are more limited than in Grade 5.
2. Provide the documents
- Long-form birth certificate (original presented at reception for authentication)
- For students born outside Canada: proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency and 2 proofs of Quebec residency (for a parent)
- Intervention plan, if applicable (to be attached during the online admission application)
3. Academic file review
After receiving the documents, we will review the file and then contact you to invite your child to a selection activity scheduled for early December.
Selection activity and confirmation
After receiving the documents, we will review the file and contact you in early December. Pre-selected students will be invited to participate in a selection activity, in December 2026.
The selection activity for the elementary class includes various exercises:
- Problem solving
- Group discussions
- Sports activity
The duration is 2 hours, making the process both more efficient and fun.
