Academic support and
guidance at CSJV
At Collège St-Jean-Vianney, every student is unique — and deserves support tailored to their needs and aspirations. That's why our pedagogical approach is based on a holistic vision of support, where well-being and success go hand in hand.

This vision of support includes tools and human resources to help our students achieve their goals and full potential — while building on our values and mission.
Whether it's academic support, school guidance, technological tools, or professional support for teachers, everything is in place so that every young person can develop in a stimulating and reassuring living environment.
Daily success support
Every student's success is our priority. Here are some of the resources available throughout the year:
- Catch-up periods
- Supervised homework sessions, offered at lunch Monday through Thursday
- Academic organization support
- Peer helpers
- Personal work/assignment periods
- Homeroom periods
- Supplementary courses offered evenings or weekends (optional, additional fees)
- Guidance counsellor services
- Courses structured according to learning plans
- Co-teaching
- DAP study period (study period offered during the Daily Activities Program)
The Educational Services team can also refer students to an external special education service, as needed.

Support for our
teachers too
We believe that well-supported teachers make all the difference. That's why two pedagogical consultants work closely with our staff to:
- support their professional development;
- address current teaching challenges;
- ensure pedagogical consistency across classrooms, particularly for new teachers.
Every staff member is thus equipped to offer personalized, caring, and inspiring guidance to our students.
Academic guidance
Our guidance counsellor supports students throughout their journey to help them better understand themselves, discover the options available to them, and make choices aligned with their interests and talents.
The Post-Secondary Expo
Every year, we welcome representatives from several CEGEPs and post-secondary institutions for an evening of discussions and workshops. Students can ask questions, compare programs, discover various study environments, and reflect on their post-secondary plans. It's a concrete opportunity to project themselves into the future… and to stay motivated in the present.
Career Day
Secondary 3 and 4 students also have the opportunity to meet professionals from various fields (health, law, engineering, entrepreneurship, skilled trades, arts, etc.) to better understand the realities of the working world. These rich exchanges give meaning to learning, stimulate curiosity, and broaden horizons.
In addition to in-house activities, our students participate in guidance programs recognized by the Ministry of Education. These experiences help young people make more informed choices.
This guidance helps every student build their own future project, with confidence.
Collège St-Jean-Vianney: a place of learning, a vibrant community, a springboard to the future.
